Week 2 - Intentionality

This week, I’ve been reflecting on the theme of intentionality, especially during my evening walk yesterday. The key scripture for our Growth community is Matthew 6:33, which emphasizes the word "Seek." To seek means to actively look for something, and in life, when we pursue something, we really want to find it.

My stroll wasn’t just a routine exercise; it was a purposeful choice for my health and a way to create space for God to speak to me. I can honestly say that each day brings a new message from Him. He communicates to all of us in so many ways—through thoughts, His voice, a song, or a scripture that really deeply resonates . Sometimes, His words come as a gentle correction, a warning, a direction, or a teaching, all rooted in His love .

As I think about what it means to seek, I realize how important my heart's posture is in this journey. God asks us to seek Him first because He knows that if our foundation in Him isn’t strong, we can easily be tossed around by life’s ups and downs but we should be aware that he’s the only firm foundation that you will build your life on and it will not crumble . We shouldn’t seek God just for the rewards of “all these other things,” but for who He is.

So, I want to ask you: Are you really finding Him? If you’re not, it might be time to earnestly seek Him. Some of us may say if we do seek him but is it in his righteousness ?Many of us wonder why we’re losing things like money, relationships, or possessions; often, it’s because we haven’t recognized Him as our true source. Once we grasp the importance of seeking His face even as His hand continues to gift us ,we do not shift focus and seek the blessing but the blesser .

I hope this channels your mind to introspect and ask yourself questions like am I being intentional about my walk with Christ .Scripture says ,“Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman keeps awake in vain (Psalms 127:1) meaning it is my responsibility to ensure that I am intentional about having God at the forefront and being my guide as he helps me build my life .

My prayer for everyone is that we genuinely seek Him and His righteousness, approaching Him with a childlike heart—eager to discover who our Father is without expecting anything in return. Let’s take that step together of being those who seek Him!
